ARM LIFT - Brachioplasty

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Dr. Rose will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases Dr. Rose may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.
Procedure:
Removal of excess skin/fat from upper arms.
Length:
2-3 Hours
Anesthesia:
General.
In/Outpatient:
Outpatient.
Side Effects:
Temporary pain. Swelling, soreness, numbness of abdominal skin, bruising, tiredness for several weeks or months.
Risks:
Blood clots. Infection. Bleeding under the skin flap. Poor healing resulting in conspicuous scarring or skin loss. Need for a second operation.
Recovery:
Back to work: 2 weeks
Strenuous Activity: 4 weeks
