Arm Lift
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby, leading patients in Orem, Provo, and Salt Lake City, Utah to seek an arm lift. Dr. Rose will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases Dr. Rose may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with your arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.
The Procedure
Removal of excess skin and fat from upper arms is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. The incision is placed on the inside of the upper arm, and the length will vary depending on the amount of loose skin and excess fat to be removed. Dr. Rose uses general anesthesia at the Riverwoods Surgery Center for optimal patient safety and comfort.
Recovery from arm lift surgery involves some swelling, soreness, and bruising as the tissues heal. Most patients can return to work after 2 weeks, and more strenuous activities in approximately 4 weeks.
