Dermaplaning is a nonsurgical and noninvasive facial exfoliation procedure that provides a wide range of skin health benefits while immediately noticing improvements in the look and feel of the skin.
The procedure is done by one of our expert aestheticians using a surgical-grade scalpel held at an angle against the skin to painlessly exfoliate the very fine layer of the skin surface that has typically been exposed to sun and the elements and thus appears lackluster. Dirt, dead skin cells, and debris accumulated over time on the skin are removed along with the vellus hair, or “peach fuzz.” Removing the vellus hair in this manner does not cause it to grow back any thicker.
Your skin will feel incredibly soft and smooth and look healthier, more vibrant, and more refreshed. Most textural irregularities are resolved through dermaplaning, and the procedure increases the absorption rate of topical products that are subsequently applied.
- Exfoliates dead skin cells

- Effective for patients with any skin tone or skin type
What does dermaplaning treat?
Dermaplaning is an effective treatment option for a wide variety of common cosmetic concerns, including Fine lines, dull or dry skin, sun damage, textural irregularities, rough patches, acne scars or other scarring, and fine facial hair that may be trapping dirt and accumulating unwanted oil.
Is dermaplaning right for me?
Dermaplaning is well suited to patients of any skin tone and skin type who are looking for an improvement in both the look and feel of their complexion. Patients with active acne or who are taking blood thinners are typically not candidates for dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning is a number of facial rejuvenation procedures we offer. Our aestheticians will help you determine if it or another procedure is best suited to achieving your facial rejuvenation goals.
How often can dermaplaning be done?
Patients can have dermaplaning done just once in preparation for a special occasion, or they may choose to make it a routine part of their skincare routine, in which case it can be done once every month or two.
What to expect during treatment
The procedure begins with a facial cleanse that removes oil and trapped dirt or debris.
One of our expert aestheticians carefully runs an angled surgical-grade scalpel over all parts of your face, bar the sensitive eye region and eyebrows.
As the scalpel is moved along the skin with light pressure, dead skin cells and vellus hair are exfoliated.
When all areas of the face have been covered with the scalpel, red light stimulation is done to reduce inflammation, reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, even out the skin tone, and spur on the production of healthy collagen.
Aloe-vera-infused sunscreen is applied to your brand-new refreshed and rejuvenated face.
These procedures will produce even greater results if dermaplaning is being done in conjunction with a chemical peel or microneedling.
