We’ve all heard the advice before… “Drink more water”. There’s a reason for this sound advice; especially in a climate like ours! Water plays a vital role in the skin’s detoxification process and aids in many other crucial functions of the body and skin. Many of us are walking around completely dehydrated without even realizing it! Dehydration can lead to everything from skin irritations, to headaches, fatigue, digestive problems, body odor, etc.
The type of water you put into your body can be just as important as increasing your water intake. It’s important to be aware of, not only what’s in your water, but also what’s not. Reverse Osmosis is one of the most beneficial processes and types of water and you can find it just about anywhere! Most every local supermarket has a water refillable water dispenser; making it both convenient and economical.
For those of you who have a hard time drinking water, try infusing it with different types of fruits and or vegetables. Using seasonal produce can be a fun twist to make it easier to get your daily H20! Below are a few combinations that are both delicious and healthy…
– Lemon/Cucumber: Thinly slice lemon and cucumbers, cover with ice and water, enjoy!
– Orange/Fresh Mint: Thinly slice oranges and add fresh mint leaves, cover with ice and water, enjoy!
– Lime/Mint/Cucumber: Thinly slice limes and cucumbers, add fresh mint, cover with ice and water… enjoy!
Another helpful and tasty tip is to blend fresh fruit and freeze into ice cube trays… strawberries, rasberries, and pineapple are particulary wonderful!
